Piemonte and Tuscany are Italian two most important wine regions, they produce many of the world-renowned Italian wines.

The two traditional grapes - Nebbiolo and Barbera are very well known and their wines are mostly aromatic and forceful. Among them Barolo is probably the most famous and is often described as Italy¡¦s greatest wine. Barbera, on the other hand is rich and elegant. Arneis is a white wine grape, and is much admired by wine lovers.

As for the innovative Tuscany, there has been a great development in the past two decades. Wines made of the traditional Sangiovese grape has big improvement. Tuscany has also proven that high quality Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon can be grown in the region, and can produce wines which are often referred to as "Super Tuscany "
